A family gathered in front of a white colonial church, on a cobbled square in Colombia

Casa Alta was inspired by the journey of David, adopted in France, who returned to Colombia in search of his origins, alongside Oscar Ruiz, founder of Casa Alta. More than a place to stay, it is a space to reconnect, where every story is welcomed with care, respect and humanity.

“Coming back to Colombia was not just any journey. It was a journey towards the truth.”

— David

Our experience

  1. 2017

Oscar accompanied five families and their adopted children returning to Colombia for the first time.

  2. 2022

Oscar accompanied David in the search for his birth family: after 19 years apart, David found his mother, whom he had believed to be dead, and his father.

“What I lived through is more than a journey. It is a rebirth.”

— David
